Big Brother Africa 4: The rough and the risqué

Big Brother Africa 4: The rough and the risqué

SJOE, after all the excitement in the Big Brother house on Sunday night, are you ready for more?!

If my source – holed up in an incubator centre, or should it be interceptor centre? – in the deep south of Namibia is right, Namibia’s twin factor, or E to the square, or the last Kings of Scotland (sighhhhhhhhh, them and their kilts), were on track to be put up for eviction last night.Yip, it seems Eddie and Erastus received the most nominations during the first combined girls and guys voting experience.Erastus was introduced to the guys on Sunday night, just before the two houses merged, and a week ahead of the planned three weeks. So the two are now playing as individuals.Initial reports from the interceptor centre cite Eddie as getting the most nominations by far – 13. He was closely followed by Erastus with 7, if my source has got her interception skills down to a fine art.Coming in behind them were reportedly Phil and Jeremy with five nominations each. However, there’s a twist! Maybe even three or four.Of course, by the time you read this all will be known. Well, maybe not all …Anyway, the head of house, Kevin, was told by Biggie headmistress yesterday that he had to swop one of the housemates up for eviction with another housemate. If not, he, Kevin, would automatically be up for eviction! In previous BBAs, swopping was an option for the head of house, but not compulsory. This means that if only two people were put up for eviction, one of the twins should be safe. However, given that there are now 21 housemates – yes, 21! – I wouldn’t be surprised if more than two people have been thrown at the mercy of the African viewing public. In which case, both twins could be in the running to leave the house.JOKER TAKES IT ALLAt this point you might be asking two questions: what’s happened to Paloma, who was the girls’ head of house, and why so many nominations for the twins.Kevin and Paloma had to draw cards yesterday to decide who would be head of the combined house, with the first person to draw the Joker taking the spoils. I know, I know, it’s not Paloma’s nature to pull Jokers out of packs – she’s more likely to pack a punch and KO a Joker! So yeah, Kevin and the Joker found it each other. And the twins … aaaaaaah the twins! My feeling is that there might have been something of a backlash as a lot of the guys are feeling like dumb and dumber still because they didn’t pick up on the twin swaps.Hannington said as much on Sunday night. In his words, it made ‘us look stupid on TV’.Or Kaone in his diary sessions yesterday: ‘I thought I was playing the game, but I was being played.’Then there’s the alliance factor. Eddie threw in his lot with the ‘smokers’ – primarily Phil, Yacob and co. In the meantime, Eddie emerged at the top of the hit list of the other alliance – Jeremy, Quinn, Leonel and co.And last, but not least, although they fancy themselves as lover boys, the McMoongos have not endeared themselves to all the females. Seems they have too much ‘perve swerve’ for some.South Africa’s Gucci-licious Liz summed up the feelings of more than one of the girls when she said: ‘I feel that they are too explicit. Yes, we are grown-up but I think it was revolting how they discussed women and sex. And yesterday, while we were chilling, they just tried to pull everyone in like in ‘vote for this team, vote for this team’.’Seems the boys may be laying it on too thick. Those who know them claim they’re being misunderstood, that they’re just putting on their shock jock, image boy thing, and that underneath it all they’re really teddy bears. Hmmmm ….They have at least one fan among the girls – Zimbabwe’s Kristal, who thinks the twins are very, very funny.OK peeps, just an update today. There’s lots more going down but too little time and too little space.Stay tuned!
