Orlando Pirates will face African Stars at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Friday night, in the main clash of the Bidvest Namibia Cup Last 16 round this coming weekend.
Mariental and Gobabis were also confirmed as hosts for the Last 16 round, with Tigers taking on Blue Waters in Mariental while Black Africa face Blue Birds in Gobabis.
The venues were confirmed on Monday morning by the organising committee and will see the Sam Nujoma Stadium hosting two matches on Friday night with the Mariental Sports Stadium and the Legare Stadium in Gobabis to host three matches each on Saturday.
On Friday night, 28 February, at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, Kaizen Football Academy will face a tough task as they take on Premier League side Ramblers at 19h00, while old foes Orlando Pirates and African Stars lock horns at 21h00.
Saturday, 1 March, will see the Mariental Stadium host three matches and action will start off at 13h00 when Mountain Rangers take on Rundu Chiefs.
At 15h00 Blue Waters will face Tigers in an all-Premier League encounter before the all-Southern Stream First Division fixture between Citizens and Mariental-based Bee Bob Brothers at 17h00.
In Gobabis, at the Legare Stadium, action will also start at 13h00 with Tura Magic against Otjozondjupa second division side Tropical Heat, to be followed by an encounter between Blue Boys and United Stars at 15h00.
Thje final matchat 17h00 will see Erongo second division side Blue Birds taking on Premiership side Black Africa for a place in the 2014 Bidvest Namibia Cup quarterfinals.
The chairperson of the NFA Cup organising committee Roger Kambatuku said by choosing these three venues the cup action was going to the people:
“This is the flagship competition of the NFA and it is important that we ensure that all our people get to see the best of action. Mariental and Gobabis, besides the normal Windhoek venue, were better placed for this round and next time we will consider other towns as well.”
The Bidvest Namibia Cup last-16 Round stadium entry tickets will be available as from Thursday through Computicket at Shoprite and Checkers countrywide, with tickets selling at N$30 each.
