Bethanie’s Mayor Minnaar dies

THE mayor of Bethanie, Paul Minnaar, died at Keetmanshoop on Wednesday after suffering a heart attack. Minnaar, a diabetic, had gone to Keetmanshoop on Tuesday to visit his doctor, and was reportedly so sick that he spent the night in private care.

According to Dr Roelie Van Wyk, Minnaar returned to his consulting room on Wednesday morning, where he suffered a heart attack and passed away between 10h00 and 11h00 despite efforts by medical staff to resuscitate him.
