Alead actress in local smash hit ‘Katutura’, centre stage in Experience Koi’s ‘Best Sex Ever’ series, the face of RIA’s Madam Elegance collection and cryptically updating from the set of ‘Third Will’, Tjuna Kauapirura has made 2015 work in the star-studded spheres of film, theatre and fashion.
2015’s ‘it’ girl?
Needs no intro. Tjuna Kauapirura. Have you seen me?
2015’s ‘it’ boy?
It would have to be Chops Tshoopara. He has grown so much and has worked for it. No, I am not being biased.
2015’s best chill spot?
My bed. I have had so little time to sleep this year and I enjoyed the few moments I got to spend with my beddie.
The last three things
you spent money on?
Hmmm, Oros (cannot live without this), nail polish and a slab of chocolate. Rum and raisin, to be specific.
Hero of the year?
My President. Uncle Hage.
Funniest social media moment of the year?
The memes they created around each political or social scandal/event. I had no idea Namibians were into memes like that.
Biggest bandwagon cause?
‘Best Sex Ever’ at the Experience Koi. It was so powerful and meaningful and got a lot of the youth to understand what it means to be worthy of respect and love.
Biggest blunder of 2015?
Jacob Zuma and his amazing skill of reading numbers. *runs off*
2015’s biggest fool?
Biggest fools will have to be all the haters. Huuu shem!
Favourite slang term of 2015?
‘Wait a bindu’ – Means wait a little. Got this from my brother Riku. Was super stunned when he used this term on me. I was like ‘can’t you just speak proper English?’
Last thing that made you
laugh out loud?
It was a video I watched on children from different cultural backgrounds doing a pregnancy prank on their parents. The Nigerian father had me rolling on the floor in tears and gasping for air. My mom thought I was weird and crazy when she walked in.
What put Namibia on the
I know that CNN did quite a couple of segments on Namibia. I especially enjoyed those on music and film in Namibia and I know these definitely put Namibia on the map.
2015 taught me…
Sooo much. Oh my… Where do I start? In essence, it has taught me so much more about God and perseverance.
