Beifang Mining Technology Services: 13 Years of Building Namibia Together

For more than a decade, Beifang Mining Technology Services (Namibia) (Pty) Ltd has stood for something bigger than mining. Since registering in Namibia in 2013, we have been deeply rooted in Namibia – committed to its development, its people, and its future as a truly Namibian registered company.

We started as a single emulsion plant. Today, we have grown into a comprehensive, one-stop mining service provider with a direct foreign investment of N$2.2 billion. We operate two major mine projects, two explosives plants, and various other facilities across the country, contributing meaningfully to Namibia’s economy at every level.

A NAMIBIAN COMPANY OPERATING TO GLOBAL STANDARDS

We operate under Namibian law, we comply with local regulations, and we are integrated into the communities where we work. Our success is built on an integrated service model that combines world-class manufacturing and blasting technology with a modern, locally managed fleet.

That fleet – hundreds of heavy machines and vehicles – represents our long-term commitment to Namibia and is maintained entirely in-country.

We also back local enterprise. In 2025 alone, our direct local procurement (excluding South African suppliers) reached N$712 million, supporting the growth of Namibian and strengthening the national supply chain.

INVESTING IN PEOPLE: SKILLS, TRAINING, AND JOBS

Our people are our most valuable asset.

Our diverse team of over 915 employees, comprising 93% Namibian and 7% Chinese professionals, works side by side to ensure skills transfer and maintain world-class operational standards.

In 2025 alone, we invested over N$5 million in training and development – because building local capability is central to who we are.

Our localisation track record speaks for itself. Over the past three years:

● More than 85 students from the Namibia University of Science and Technology, the University of Namibia, the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology, and the International University of Management have completed internships with Beifang.

● More than 45 graduates have joined us and are building lasting careers within the company, growing to management roles.

Many of our current supervisors, technicians, and skilled professionals began their journey with us in entry-level or assistant roles. Their growth is our growth.

FAIR AND TRANSPARENT REMUNERATION

We believe in transparency and fair treatment. Every Beifang employee is covered by a comprehensive remuneration package that complies fully with Namibian labour law and their employment contract.

The facts are clear and compelling:

● A machine operator receives a total monthly package in excess of N$22 000, which includes the basic, benefits (housing allowance, medical aid and pension), overtime, shift allowance, and monthly performance bonuses.

● We also invest in our team’s future beyond the paycheck. Every employee received a company pension contribution equivalent to 10% of their basic salary, and all receive housing allowances and medical aid coverage.

We are committed to improving operational performance to continue enhancing employee well-being and delivering even greater benefits in the years ahead.

All of our incentive policies are designed to uphold the integrity of our operations and to reward excellence.

SAFETY FIRST, ALWAYS

Our commitment to our people is matched by our commitment to their safety.

Beifang is proud to hold a 4-star Nosa rating, a reflection of our robust safety management systems and our belief that every worker deserves to go home safe, every day. We continuously invest in improving those systems.

OUR COMMITMENT GOING FORWARD

In light of recent discussions and public notices concerning exemption applications for continuous shift operations, we want to be clear:

Beifang strictly adheres to the Namibian Labour Act and all applicable laws. We remain committed to open, constructive, and ongoing dialogue with the Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations , mineworkers unions, and our employees –a commitment that has been demonstrated throughout our 13-year history and in our recent engagements.

We signed a recognition and procedural agreement with the Mineworkers Union of Namibia (MUN) in 2016 and have concluded wage negotiations four times successfully. In addition, there are monthly meetings between the company and the MUN to resolve matters of mutual concern.

We believe our actions and our contributions speak for themselves – and we will continue to focus on improving our operations and creating greater value for the people who make this company what it is.

As we look ahead, Beifang Mining Technology Services remains dedicated to operational excellence, local empowerment, and being a trusted corporate partner in Namibia’s sustainable growth. We are here for the long term, building Namibia’s future together with its people.

Beifang Mining: your reliable mining partner committed to localisation and safety. Proud to contribute to Namibia’s economy and the future of its people.
