The Beach Netball Tournament at A Shipena Secondary School on Saturday proved to be a resounding success, drawing 12 competitive teams and an enthusiastic crowd throughout the day.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship from RA Investment and Dynapharm, the prize pool was significantly boosted – with the first-place winners taking home N$4 000, gold medals, and a championship trophy. The title went to Wise Girls (Unam Ogongo), who displayed exceptional skill and consistency throughout the tournament.

Esylife Babes (Afrocat) came second, winning N$2 000 and silver medals, while Dream Team (Afrocat) secured third place and bronze.

The overwhelming success of this event has inspired organisers to expand the beach netball series to Swakopmund next year, with plans to make it even bigger and better as a premier off-season sporting attraction.

Beach netball is fast becoming a new sporting phenomenon, bringing together athleticism, fun and community spirit in a refreshing and vibrant setting.
