BBA Col: Out, damn spot, OUT!

JUSTICE, Justice, Justice. What else is left to say about this man? Was there ever anything to say, anyway? Yesterday he irritated most housemates, not to mention TV viewers, when he again went ON and ON about how “offended” he was with Meryl’s comments on Friday.

PLEEEAASSSEEE, that was so four days ago!!! Dude, get over it. The girl apologised but it looks like he’s not happy with his pound of flesh. He wants more, but ‘what’, the housemates asked. He said he would decide on that by himself.”OK, let’s move on…” “Noooo, I haven’t finished talking.”And so it went.On.And on, like those endless repeats on NBC TV.After another prolonged discussion, all housemates agreed that what Meryl had said was inappropriate, if not offensive. That seemed to please him but when Max suggested that he apologise to Meryl as well because she was offended by the way he had spoken to her, the short man hit replay.Another round of how he was “so affected”.God forbid that all men in Botswana are like Justice. In the end, people started losing patience.Among those clearly upset by Justice’s refusal to let go of an issue were Max, Richard, Kwaku and even the mild Ofunneka. He was left to deal with his own anger in his own way.’ABUSE’ DEBATE The discussion was prompted by a debate on verbal abuse suggested by BB.They had to define verbal abuse and then debate when and where it is and is not acceptable. They all agreed it is uttering words which demean, offend and make the other person feel uncomfortable.Justice started off by arguing that as Africans there were certain acceptable ways of behaviour and that the use of abusive language in certain forums wasn’t acceptable. This was disputed by Kwaku and Code, who felt that the tag ‘African’ was too general because Africans were also individuals with their own beliefs and values. Both felt there were many ‘un-African’ goings-on in the show and, being a reality show, people had to behave as they normally did.Of course, Lerato and Meryl, being the most likely to let out a cuss word or two, were quick to defend themselves. They said background also mattered, that what was considered abusive to some was not to others.Housemates ended up agreeing on three steps if a housemate felt verbally abused. The first step was not to discuss the issue when both people were drunk; step 2 was to ask another housemate to mediate and then if that failed, to have a group meeting; and finally step 3 was to go to Big Brother.Zimbo Bertha is finally feeling the full impact of being nominated. She has tried to play it strong but on Tuesday, she couldn’t hold it in any longer. The poor woman broke down and cried in the bedroom. This was after she had pulled Max aside for a chat. She told Max she couldn’t understand why she had been nominated because she had been ‘real’ and the friendships she had created were strong ones.Max, in his wisdom, told her he had figured out the three most important attributes to have in the House: Be real, hard work and good human relations. Now, we all know that Max hasn’t shown himself to be the most intelligent of the 12 housemates but even he has managed to figure out the best survival route, so Bertha …duh! She eventually lay on her bed with Hillary Clinton’s book: ‘Her Way, Her Biography’.Lerato also offered words of comfort, telling her everything happened for a reason, maybe there were bigger and better things for her out there.Justice claimed to Big Brother that he was expecting the nomination because of what had happened with Meryl.(Don’t believe one word of it! He was hoping that by blowing up the situation, he would get Meryl evicted!) He admitted to not getting along with a number of housemates.Otherwise, he appears to be going about what he knows best: whining and whinging. That’s Justice for you.GIRL-ON-GIRL ACTION There was a Britney, Christina and Madonna moment on Tuesday when Lerato decided to lock lips with Meryl and Maureen.Lerato gave Vaseline to Meryl and Maureen by rubbing her lips against theirs. She then asked Kwaku whether he would also like some Vaseline for his lips.He refused! Uhmmmm…Richard, Code and Justice engaged in one of those men’s locker room type discussions on women.Primarily Tatiana and Maureen. The three felt the two girls had come on to them.Yes people, EVEN Justice felt Maureen had passed him a line (duh!).The three trashed Tatiana’s behaviour, saying her cuddly nature was a ‘come on’ and that they had done well to nip it in the bud.Code is proving to be something of a viper. His morals are highly questionable. He cuddles up to Maureen at every opportunity but last night he did a 360-degree turn.He said he wasn’t into any of the girls. His exact words: ‘I have no affiliation to any girl in the House.None of these girls have my attention’.I wonder how poor Maureen would feel if she heard this.Justice seems to be under the misguided impression that Maureen is interested in him.He said at some point she had asked him if she could lie in bed with him but he told her he wasn’t interested. Now, BBA people, tell me, does this seem likely? The only person Maureen has shown any interest in is the two-faced Code, who doesn’t deserve her at all.It appears he is using her for his own ends. The man has no loyalty whatsoever.Richard said Tatiana’s habit of liking to hug and touch the guys backfired on her with him because he played a mind game on her and she has since changed her behaviour towards him. What was interesting was that Kwaku was present when the gossiping started but left when he realised the three were maliciously bashing the two girls.Max also walked in and left on realising the topic of conversation. These men need to grow up, people. These are modern times, if girls like you, they will tell you so but if you are in the House, take it with a pinch of salt.LOGGERHEADS On Tuesday, housemates had to saw a log as one of their tasks. There was a red team and a blue team.Housemates not used to such manual labour had the hardest time of it.All complained of all manner of body pains for the rest of the day, with Lerato leading the pack, suggesting that at this rate she would end up looking like Serena (Williams – a muscular tennis star). In the afternoon, they had to move non-stop.Housemates began to get creative as they became tired.Kwaku came up with some funky booty shaking motion that was lekker to watch.Lerato’s stomach could not allow her any significant motion so she opted to lean on the sink and sway.Ofunneka introduced her Nigerian moves.Life in the house! He was left to deal with his own anger in his own way. ‘ABUSE’ DEBATE The discussion was prompted by a debate on verbal abuse suggested by BB.They had to define verbal abuse and then debate when and where it is and is not acceptable.
