Banks should respect clients, says NCCI

ONGWEDIVA – Chairperson of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) in the north-central regions, Philip Amwele, has called on commercial banks to always show respect to clients.

Amwele made the call during the Bank Windhoek consultative meeting that took place on Monday evening. He blamed the banks for the trend of just employing few tellers to serve hundreds of people and as a result clients usually spend enormous time in long queues in waiting for the bank officials to attend to them. The NCCI regional head singled out the business people, as the clients the banks should respect the most as they, according to him, are the backbone of economic growth in any country.Amwele alleged that the banks were not prepared to spend and, as such, only few employees/tellers the institutions are willing to have in their employment.Other speakers at the meeting also felt the banks should offer the small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) special treatment for the sake of business development in the regions.-NampaHe blamed the banks for the trend of just employing few tellers to serve hundreds of people and as a result clients usually spend enormous time in long queues in waiting for the bank officials to attend to them. The NCCI regional head singled out the business people, as the clients the banks should respect the most as they, according to him, are the backbone of economic growth in any country.Amwele alleged that the banks were not prepared to spend and, as such, only few employees/tellers the institutions are willing to have in their employment.Other speakers at the meeting also felt the banks should offer the small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) special treatment for the sake of business development in the regions.-Nampa
