Banking programme launched at Polytech

STUDENTS interested in pursuing careers in the banking field will have an opportunity to do so after the launch of Standard Bank banking study programme at the Polytechnic of Namibia (PoN) last week.

At the official launch, Standard Bank of Namibia Managing Director Theo Mberirua said through the programme, students would be able to develop into financial services experts, who would possess entrepreneurial spirit, networking skills and the intellectual capacity to drive economic development and business innovation. He added that this would enable students to contribute meaningfully to the country’s economic development and become active leaders in the Southern African Development Community economy.PoN Rector Dr Tjama Tjivikua described it as a unique opportunity which would benefit students and also enhance the Polytechnic’s profile.The ‘Banking Group’ programme is a regional leadership development programme also covering Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana.He added that this would enable students to contribute meaningfully to the country’s economic development and become active leaders in the Southern African Development Community economy.PoN Rector Dr Tjama Tjivikua described it as a unique opportunity which would benefit students and also enhance the Polytechnic’s profile.The ‘Banking Group’ programme is a regional leadership development programme also covering Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana.
