Bank celebrates automotive industry

Bank Windhoek last week celebrated dealerships’ support of the bank during the previous financial year.

Schalk van Greunen of Indongo Toyota Okahandja scooped the top salesperson award in both the new and used vehicles categories at the bank’s Vehicle and Asset Finance (VAF) Selekt Sales Awards ceremony held in Windhoek.

Danie Slabbert of Mariental Toyota took second place in the new vehicles category, while Jaco Nel of Pupkewitz Toyota Windhoek was named the third-best salesperson.

The second and third spots in the used vehicles category went to Marius Coetzee of Windhoek Carzone Auto Sales and Fritz Reynecke of Pupkewitz Toyota Windhoek.

The owner dealership award for all regions categories went to Zimmerman Garage, followed by Redco Motors t/a Gobabis Toyota and Windhoek Carzone Auto Sales.

Bank Windhoek’s Hhad of specialist finance, Saara Shivute, said the bank is aware that stock availability challenges were experienced occasionally for new and pre-owned vehicles.

“However, the silver lining to this is the increase of 15,9% in new vehicle sales during 2022, compared with the number of new vehicles sold in 2021, despite the impact of increased repo rates over the same period,” she said.

The winners were chosen from the total number of deals referred to and concluded by Bank Windhoek’s vehicle and asset finance branch.

The top finance and insurance consultant was Chandre Morkel, followed by Yolande Cloete, both of Indongo Toyota Windhoek, Jason Engelbrecht of Metje and Ziegler Limited, and Zuraya Isaaks and Helen van Wyk of Novel Motor Company.

The new vehicles mega franchise dealer award for all regions went to Pupkewitz Motor Division followed by Indongo Toyota and Metje and Ziegler Limited.

The used vehicle franchise dealer award for Windhoek was Novel Motor Company (Pty) Ltd, followed by Pupkewitz Toyota Windhoek and Indongo Toyota.

The new vehicles franchise dealer award for rural Namibia was Mariental Toyota, followed by Indongo Toyota Okahandja and Indongo Toyota Otjiwarongo.

The used vehicles franchise dealer award for rural Namibia was Indongo Toyota Okahandja, followed by Pupkewitz Von Baums and Bidvest Namibia Automotive Otjiwarongo (Pty) Ltd t/a Jan Gey Auto.
