Education, innovation, youth, sport, arts and culture deputy minister Dino Ballotti concluded a regional coaches engagement programme at Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi region on Sunday.
The ministry says the week-long engagement covering four regions provided local coaches with a direct platform to exchange views with the ministry’s leadership.
“In every region, Ballotti formally launched a Regional Coaches’ Forum, a new structure designed to provide coaches with one united voice on sport matters, encourage collaboration and shared solutions on issues of mutual concern, and strengthen communication at grassroots level,” notes a statement from the ministry.
Ballotti reaffirmed the government’s commitment to upgrading sport infrastructure and equipment, as well as establishing clear norms and standards for basic physical education and school sport facilities, the ministry adds.
Ballotti addressed the commercialisation of sport as a key priority for sustainable growth, and the importance of the Integrated Physical Education and School Sports policy which seeks to broaden access and elevate performance across all codes.
