Renowned Congolese singer and composer Louis Longomba, popularly known as Awilo, is set to perform in Windhoek in November.
This marks his second return to Namibia, following a poorly attended show in November 2011.
In a video currently making the rounds on social media, the ‘Carolina’ hitmaker promises fans a memorable time.
“See you this November. Don’t miss out,” Awilo says in the clip.
In 2011, the artist was the headline act at what was billed to be a five-star show aimed to pay tribute to Namibian fallen music icon Jackson Kaujeua.
Reports from then suggest that the show was a failure, as it was poorly attended.
Additionally, some of the local supporting acts failed to perform, despite accepting appearance fees in advance.
