Aussie PM calls snubs ‘9/11’ film

CANBERRA – Australian prime minister John Howard called “Fahrenheit 9/11” a factually incorrect propaganda movie as the scathing documentary about his key ally, US president George W Bush, opened in Australia yesterday.

Howard, who sent troops to the US-led invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Bush’s war on terror, said he had not yet seen Michael Moore’s film but wanted people to understand it was a biased, anti-Bush work. “People should understand that this is a propaganda movie,” he told Australian radio.”As long as people accept that it’s a biased documentary and it’s designed by someone who has a visceral, political hatred of George Bush.It is in no way objective history,” Howard said. The documentary has already earned more than US$100 million in the United States in just over a month to become the most successful documentary ever and has been seen by more than six million people.Howard said he would watch the documentary if he had an opportunity.- Nampa-Reuters”People should understand that this is a propaganda movie,” he told Australian radio.”As long as people accept that it’s a biased documentary and it’s designed by someone who has a visceral, political hatred of George Bush.It is in no way objective history,” Howard said. The documentary has already earned more than US$100 million in the United States in just over a month to become the most successful documentary ever and has been seen by more than six million people.Howard said he would watch the documentary if he had an opportunity.- Nampa-Reuters
