Aupindi mourns ‘friend and brother’ Uerikua

Member of parliament Tobie Aupindi, who is usually seated next to James Uerikua in the National Assembly, on Friday took to social media to pay tribute to his colleague, brother and friend.

“My heart is shattered. I have lost not just a colleague, but a dear friend and a brother.

“Honourable Uerikua was taken from us so suddenly and tragically in a car accident,” he says.

Uerikua died on the road between Otjiwarongo and Okakarara on Friday.

Aupindi remembers his comrade as more than a leader, but as “a kind soul, a pillar of strength, and a man whose humility and love for people defined his life”.

He says the laughter they shared, the struggles they faced, and the dreams they carried for the country will forever live in his heart.

Aupindi says it is painful to imagine a world without Uerikua, adding: “Namibia has lost a true servant, and I have lost a brother.

“My deepest prayers go out to his family and all who loved him. May God grant us strength in this dark moment, and may his beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.”
