Auas Road closed due to road upgrade

The City of Windhoek on Wednesday announced the closure of Auas Road phase one due to construction.

Auas Road is being upgraded to a carriageway standard.
The temporary closure will be from 17 February to 17 March.

Impacted roads are, western carriageway, inbound from the two lanes of the Auas Road at 300 meters of the north of Stadion Street to 150 meters south of Aviation Road, in the areas of the Eros Airport.

A temporary alternative route will be available on the eastern side of the carriageway.

Auas Road leads from Southern Industry’s Mandume Ndemufayo Avenue, passing through the Mercure Hotel, Olympia, just behind the Hage Geingob Stadium, Arrebusch, Kleine Kuppe and Cimbebasia.

“The public is urged to use alternative routes and adhere to the road rules at all times,” the notice read.
