A TAXI driver was robbed at gunpoint in Windhoek on Saturday afternoon, the Police have reported.
The victim, 25-year-old Jafet Shawelaka, says two men got into his taxi and asked him to drive them to the Grysblok area in Katutura. As they neared the Grysblok cemetery, the men apparently pulled out guns and robbed Shawelaka of N$230 in cash.The men disappeared with the money and no recovery has been made.Police are investigating a case of armed robbery.* A resident of Luederitz, Josephine Ashipala (32) sustained serious burns, and lost all her worldly possessions on Friday when her house in Area Seven was set on fire.Ashipala had apparently been arguing with a 38-year-old suspect, who then burnt her house down.The value of the house and the items inside is estimated at N$20 000, the Police reported yesterday.The suspect has been arrested.* Items with a combined value of N$3 850 were stolen from a house in Keetmanshoop’s Noordhoek area on Friday morning.The stolen items include a DVD player, four speakers and seven CDs.No arrests had been affected by yesterday afternoon.As they neared the Grysblok cemetery, the men apparently pulled out guns and robbed Shawelaka of N$230 in cash.
