AREBBUSCH Lodge – located in a beautiful natural setting of the southern outskirts of Windhoek, recently launched an environment-friendly energy production programme.
The initiative saw the lodge replacing all its old incandescence light bulbs with new energy-saving bulbs and is in the process of conducting a feasibility study on the use of geyser timers.
‘By the beginning of 2011, we intend to have a fully-fledged energy-saving production programme in place. It is currently being developed in conjunction with Wolfgang Schenck from Nuevas Ideas,’ said Arebbusch marketing manager, Robert Nienaber.
He said, if it was not for the natural setting in which the lodge is set, they would not exist, and therefore, it was important for them to become more environment conscious.
‘Not just so as to ensure our own long-term sustainability, but to ensure the protection of the natural environment for future generations to come,’ said Nienaber.
