Apology To Pastors

Apology To Pastors

I REGRET the blatant lie I wrote in The Namibian of Tuesday 3 August 2004.

As a young Namibian citizen, I realize that the influence and status can lead to betrayal of your own brothers and sisters. I wrote the letter after a discussion with a friend (woman) whose denomination is unknown to me.I realize that I misunderstood and misused the freedom of speech without making a thorough investigation of my facts.I am the ELCAP facilitator in Otavi, but only go to the services, if I have to make announcements on ELCAP or attend a funeral of a relative, which I don’t always do.I didn’t enquire, investigate or even discuss my thoughts with the relevant elders, choirs or pastors and went to the newspaper without any proof of the facts.I am mandated by the ELCRN Bethesda Congregation of Otavi as ELCAP facilitator in Namibia to attend workshops with the assistance of the Bethesda congregation, but fail to give proper feedback to the congregation. My letter in the newspaper became “the talk of town” with things I can’t prove, I consider myself guilty and herewith apologise to the elders, choirs, pastors, members of the congregation, deans and bishops of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia.I promise myself that I shall never again misuse the good services of The Namibian newspaper to tarnish fellow countrymen and women.Bricks Namuandi OtaviI wrote the letter after a discussion with a friend (woman) whose denomination is unknown to me.I realize that I misunderstood and misused the freedom of speech without making a thorough investigation of my facts.
