Another PDM member resigns

The recent trend of key members resigning from the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) continues as yet another member has left the party.

Vakamuina Kamutuezu, who served on the PDM’s central committee, terminated her membership from the party on Friday.

Kamutuezu on Friday said she resigned from the party to pursue other opportunities.

This follows former member of parliament Yvette Araes’ resignation from the PDM on Monday.

“I, Vakamuina Kamutuezu, am writing to formally resign from my membership of PDM and the role of central committee member with immediate effect,” she said in her letter of resignation.

Kamutuezu said she for over 15 years served as the PDM youth league secretary of finance, and is thankful for being given the opportunity to serve the party and contribute to its vision.

“After much thought, I have chosen to step away from the party to explore new opportunities,” she said.

She wished the party strength in its ongoing work to uplift the nation and thanked the party for supporting her during her time at the party.

Meanwhile, the Namibian Sun also reported that another PDM member, Shonena Nathanael, tendered his resignation from the party.

Nathanael joined the PDM youth league in 2024 with hopes of contributing to a vibrant political future and to an organisation that prioritises the needs of the people.

However, he allegedly encountered persistent back-door gossip.
