Angolan Hip Hop trio Kalibrados head for Namibia

The Kalahari Sands Hotel and Casino will host Angolan music trio Kalibrados.

The hip hop group, made up of Kadaff, VuiVui and Laton, have already made a name for themselves in their home country of Angola.Two members of the group, Kadaff and Vui Vui, met each other in school and started rapping under the name Movimento. Later they met Mr K (now no longer a group member), who was working on an album. Together they formed the group Kalibre 58. Luton, a producer originally from Portugal, was the last member to join the crew, which now operates under the name Kalibrados.They released their first album in 2006, ‘Negócio Fechado’ which got them winning awards for Best Group, Best Newcomers, Best Modern Music Group and Album of The Year at the Rádio Luanda Awards and Moda Luanda Awards.This album was followed in 2008 by ‘Cartas Na Mesa’. Kalibrados has also performed on international stages and have taking their music as far as England, Spain, Portugal and Germany. Namibian hip hop fans will be able to see them in concert on Friday, September 14, at Zoo Park in Windhoek. The group will perform some of their hits including ‘Tem Melaco’, ‘Senhorita and ‘Quem manda no block’ to name just a few. They will perform from their new album ‘Diários da República’. Tickets are available for N$80 at CompuTicket outlets countrywide. Tickets will also be available at the gate for N$100. The show will start at 18h00.
