BRITISH-based Namibian boxer, Paulus ‘Ali’ Nuumbembe, scored what could well be his easiest victory in the paid ranks when he won his seventh professional fight on a first-round technical knock-out.
The welterweight boxer, who won a bronze medal for Namibia at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, squared up against Briton Wayne Wheeler in one of several undercards fights at Penningtons in Bradford, England on Friday night. Despite the fact that Wheeler has over 20 fights behind him, Namibia’s ‘Silent Assassin’ had no problem despatching him inside the first three minutes of the contest without breaking into a sweat.According to a British boxing website, Nuumbembe put the helpless Wheeler on the canvas three times in the opening round with some powerful right hooks and jabs before referee Mickey Vann had seen enough and stepped in.Nuumbembe now stands a chance of competing for the British Masters crown.Nuumbembe’s opponent as well as a date for that fight have yet to be determined.- NampaDespite the fact that Wheeler has over 20 fights behind him, Namibia’s ‘Silent Assassin’ had no problem despatching him inside the first three minutes of the contest without breaking into a sweat.According to a British boxing website, Nuumbembe put the helpless Wheeler on the canvas three times in the opening round with some powerful right hooks and jabs before referee Mickey Vann had seen enough and stepped in.Nuumbembe now stands a chance of competing for the British Masters crown.
