Air Namibia Does It Again

AIR Namibia has done it again. I was booking tickets to Johannesburg yesterday when I discovered that because of the “special fare” currently offered by Air Namibia, my 18-month-old infant daughter would pay the same fare as adults, N$1 200 before taxes, even though she will be sitting on my lap.

The travel agent called Air Namibia to confirm and was told that because the special fare was so cheap there was no discount for infants. How is this justified? In all of my travels, I have never heard of such a policy.Had I known and had a little more foresight, I could have used British Airways or another carrier. In the future I will certainly check all other options before booking with Air Namibia.By the way, the last time I flew Air Namibia to Cape Town, SOS International was transporting a patient who needed 6 to 8 seats for the stretcher. The only problem was that Air Namibia had sold the seats and passengers only realised the problem once they were in the back of the plane. It took over an hour to sort out and many had to be rebooked on the next flight. In the end, it is not so much about the money, but about the principles of customer service.Annoyed Via e-mailHow is this justified?
