African students meet

The 19th All Africa Students Conference is being held in Windoek this week with participants form Lesotho, South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Botswana already in town.

The conference will concentrate on exchanging ideas and information to promote sustainable development in Africa. Other agenda issues are to identify solutions that will enable Africa to become an effective partner in international trade and development as well as emphasising the crucial contributions African students and those in the diaspora can make to lead Africa into the future with a spirit of service and commitment.The conference will also establish linkages and build a strong sense of collaboration between African students and the African Diaspora in an effort to expand the Pan African network and the role of the youth in the quest for economic emancipation.The inaugural All African Students Conference was held at the Warburg College, Iowa in the United Stated of America in 1989.Since then it has become an annual event.Other agenda issues are to identify solutions that will enable Africa to become an effective partner in international trade and development as well as emphasising the crucial contributions African students and those in the diaspora can make to lead Africa into the future with a spirit of service and commitment.The conference will also establish linkages and build a strong sense of collaboration between African students and the African Diaspora in an effort to expand the Pan African network and the role of the youth in the quest for economic emancipation.The inaugural All African Students Conference was held at the Warburg College, Iowa in the United Stated of America in 1989.Since then it has become an annual event.
