IN a report in The Namibian of April 1, ‘Cardiac centre to open soon’, Health Minister Dr Libertina Amathila was quoted as saying heart operations in Kenya cost the State “about N$100 000 per patient”.
The Minister phoned the newspaper yesterday to point out that sending heart patients to South Africa could cost up to N$100 000, and that it cost only about N$35 000 to send heart patients to Kenya.
