The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology on Monday unveiled the official logo and theme for Namibia’s independence celebrations from 2025 to 2029.
The new logo, created by Windhoek-based graphic designer Simon Newawa, was selected through a national competition.
The winning design will be used in official branding and communications for the next five years.
According to a statement issued by the ministry’s executive director, Audrin Mathe, the theme for the celebrations, ‘Beyond 35: For a Prosperous Future’ focuses on Namibia’s unity and efforts for a better future.
“This theme highlights our collective responsibility to build a stronger, more prosperous nation,” he said.
Mathe said the logo represents key elements of the nation’s identity: yellow for life and prosperity, blue for the sky and ocean, green for natural resources, and red for those who fought for independence.
The logo and theme will be available on the ministry’s website and social media for public use.
Mathe said the national design competition invited creative minds across Namibia to contribute to shaping our country’s visual identity.
“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all 480 participants whose submissions showcased the creativity, passion and patriotic spirit of Namibia,” he said.
