KNIFE-WIELDING robbers overpowered two women at a house at Langstrand on Wednesday and made off with goods valued at more than N$70 000, the Police reported yesterday.
Erongo Police spokesperson Julia Nujoma told The Namibian that the incident took place in broad daylight.Three men allegedly forced their way into the house on Langstrand’s Kuisebmond Road, surprising Magdalena van Wyk (56) and her domestic assistant, identified only as Johanna.According to Nujoma, the women’s hands were tied behind their backs and they were forced to lie on the floor of one of the rooms, while the robbers ransacked the house and made off with jewellery and household items valued at more than N$70 000. ‘Fortunately no one was injured,’ said Nujoma.A suspect has been arrested.
