Okahandja woman arrested over boyfriend’s death

A woman (54) was arrested after she allegedly fatally assaulted her boyfriend (69) at Okahandja over the weekend.

This was confirmed by national police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi.

The deceased, who has been identified as Paulus Michael, was allegedly assaulted with an iron bar all over his body.

“The deceased and suspect were not married, but have been in a relationship for almost 20 years,” Shikwambi said.

Michael’s body has been transported to the local hospital, “from where it would further be transported for post-mortem examination”, she said.

The police said his next of kin have been informed of the incident and police investigations continue.
