Residents of Koro village in the Kavango East region on Tuesday apprehended a man (40) who allegedly killed his girlfriend.
Anna Maria Ncashe (39) died at Zaidag village on Friday.
After the suspect allegedly killed his partner, he fled the scene and the police launched a manhunt to find him.
Acting regional police commander deputy commissioner Eino Nambahu says the suspect arrived at the headman’s house in Koro village on Tuesday, claiming responsibility for the murder.
“He said he walked for several days after the incident, with the intention of surrendering to the police,” Nambahu says.
Headman Kamberuka Regberth then promptly contacted the police, he says.
Nambahu commends the residents of Koro village for their vigilance and cooperation.
