Principals Mustn’t Teach

ALLOW me to express my views on the issue of principals at high schools and subject allocation.

I don’t think it is a wise decision to let principals at high schools be allocated to subjects. Firstly, principals have many responsibilities to run the school and attend to other matters.Secondly, learners will miss out a lot, simply because the principal has to deal with other issues at the school, at the same time, and maintain discipline and as a result learners may not cover the whole syllabus in time, and that in turn will contribute to failures at the school. Therefore I suggest that the Ministry should revise this issue thoroughly.Principals should rather teach non-promotional subjects like life skills.Tired Teacher Via e-mail Note: Name and address provided – EdFirstly, principals have many responsibilities to run the school and attend to other matters.Secondly, learners will miss out a lot, simply because the principal has to deal with other issues at the school, at the same time, and maintain discipline and as a result learners may not cover the whole syllabus in time, and that in turn will contribute to failures at the school. Therefore I suggest that the Ministry should revise this issue thoroughly.Principals should rather teach non-promotional subjects like life skills.Tired Teacher Via e-mail Note: Name and address provided – Ed
