Kauandenge drops Nudo presidency bid

National Unity Democratic Organisation (Nudo) secretary general Joseph Kauandenge has made a U-turn on his decision to run for the presidency position at the party’s upcoming congress.

Kauandenge was among those who announced his intention to contest for the party’s top position at its upcoming congress, due to take place from 12 to 14 July.

“After further reflection, he (Kauandenge) has decided to withdraw his candidacy to run for the presidential position and neither will he run for any other positions at the upcoming elective congress,” Nudo noted in a media conference invitation on Tuesday.

Nudo will hold a media briefing to elaborate on the reasons for Kauandenge’s withdrawal on Wednesday.

This as Nudo’s incumbent president Esther Muinjangue has opted not to run for a second term as party president.
