Newborn’s body found in rubbish bin

Walvis Bay municipal workers discovered the body of a newborn boy at the town on Monday.

Erongo police spokesperson warrant officer Tuyenikelao Tashiya said the body was discovered while the workers were emptying rubbish bins at Kuisebmond.

They reported the matter to the police, who first transported the body to Walvis Bay State Hospital for certification and then to the police mortuary.

No arrest has been made and police investigations are ongoing.
