Visa exemptions for delegates coming to mourn Geingob

Albert Kawana

Foreign delegates accompanying heads of state and members of government to attend president Hage Geingob’s funeral on Sunday will be exempt from work visas for the period.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security confirmed the waiver on Wednesday.

Immigration minister Albert Kawana said the exemption is valid until 27 February.

“That exemption is only granted to the staff members accompanying the heads of state and their delegations, drivers, as well as all media officials; journalists are accredited by the Namibian Ministry of Information and Communication Technology,” said Kawana.
