29.5% of pupils qualify for Grade 12

At least 12 031 pupils have qualified for the Grade 12 National Senior Secondary Advanced Subsidiary level.

This is out of 40 757 pupils who wrote the Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary examination. This represents 29.5%, which is an increase from 25.2% of pupils in 2023.

This was announced by minister of education, arts and culture Anna Nghipondoka on Tuesday.

Rukonga Vision School scooped the top three positions. The school has been named the best school since 2023.

The pupils in these positions are Jolisa Garises (1), Tangeniomwene Ingashipua (2) and Trinity /Oxurus (3).

The fourth best pupil is Martha Uuyuni from Canisianum Roman Catholic High School and the fifth is Jacob Iipinge also from Rukonga Vision School.

The best performing public schools are Rukonga Vision School, Onawa Senior Secondary School, and Ruacana Vocational Secondary School, which improved to the third position from being 16th in the previous year.

The regions topping the performance list this year are the Oshikoto (1), Kavango West (2), Omusati (3), Oshana (4) and Ohangwena (5) regions.
