2 die in crash in North

TWO people died when a bakkie they were travelling in left the road and overturned at Onanhadi village – along the Oshakati-Endola main road in the Ohangwena Region – on Friday morning.

Oshana Regional Crime Investigation Co-ordinator, Chief Inspector Golden Naanda, told The Namibian that the two deceased have been identified as the elderly Ndahambelela Shingudi from Omanyoshe village near Endola and an 18-year-old youth, Jason Mutumbulwa. Chief Inspector Naanda said Shingudi died on the spot, while Mutumbulwa died just before he reached Oshakati State Hospital.He said that three people, including the driver of the bakkie, survived.They sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Oshakati State Hospital.It was the second fatal accident in the space of two days in Oshakati District.Three people lost their lives in a horror car crash at Oshikuku on Wednesday.Chief Inspector Naanda again called on drivers in Oshana Region and in other parts of the country to drive carefully and to ensure that their motor vehicles were roadworthy, in order to help save lives.Chief Inspector Naanda said Shingudi died on the spot, while Mutumbulwa died just before he reached Oshakati State Hospital.He said that three people, including the driver of the bakkie, survived.They sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Oshakati State Hospital.It was the second fatal accident in the space of two days in Oshakati District.Three people lost their lives in a horror car crash at Oshikuku on Wednesday.Chief Inspector Naanda again called on drivers in Oshana Region and in other parts of the country to drive carefully and to ensure that their motor vehicles were roadworthy, in order to help save lives.
