16-year-old raped by unknown man in Oshana, police search ongoing

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped at Omusheshe village in the Oshana region last Sunday, the police have confirmed.

Oshana police deputy commissioner Fredrick Ndjadila says the incident occurred while the teenager was walking to her grandmother’s house.

He says the victim was approached by an unknown man driving a white car, who reportedly stopped and spoke to her.

Ndjadila says the suspect, whose age is unknown, became aggressive, forced the girl into his vehicle and drove her to the location where he raped her.

The deputy commissioner says the suspect has not yet been arrested as he is unknown, but says the victim can identify him once seen.

Police investigations continue.
