JOHANNESBURG – South Africa’s ruling party chief Jacob Zuma will appeal to the nation’s highest court over a ruling this week that reinstated corruption charges against him, his lawyer said on Wednesday.
‘A decision has been taken to take the appeal to the Constitutional Court within the three-week period stipulated by the law,’ Michael Hulley told AFP. The appeal will challenge a ruling Monday by the Supreme Court of Appeal, which said that prosecutors could pursue a raft of corruption charges against Zuma over an arms scandal that has rocked South African politics. – Nampa-AFP
