IN your lead article in your edition of April 4 2007, ‘Electricity up 13,2%’, your reporter seems to simply sum up the present 13,2% hike and the 10,2% hike of last year to conclude that therefore the overall percentage hike is 23,4%! This is clearly wrong! With the price that existed before the 10,2% hike taken as the base, a quick calculation – without a calculator – will show you that the overall percentage hike after this intended 13,2% further increase is 24.75%.
