Why Nam Dollar Doesn’t Count

Why Nam Dollar Doesn’t Count

THANK you for providing me some space in your well-read paper.

I write this letter with tremendous disappointment. Could somebody please tell me why the Namibian dollar is not accepted (used) in South Africa while the South African rand is tolerated in the “Land of the Brave”.It’s pretty funny that the use of the Namibian dollar in South Africa is only limited to towns like Van Rhynsdorp and what is really sad is the fact that they deduct 7% from any purchases done with the Namibian dollar while the South African rand is rated entirely equal to the Namibian dollar in Namibia.I personally feel that the time has come for the cards to be played right; either one should be able to buy with the Namibian dollar in the whole of South Africa, or the South African rand should not be accepted in Namibia, or otherwise 7% should be deducted on all purchases done with the South African rand in Namibia.I am completely sure that all Namibians feel disadvantaged by this arrangement.Hepundjua Kenny Wenort Via e-mailCould somebody please tell me why the Namibian dollar is not accepted (used) in South Africa while the South African rand is tolerated in the “Land of the Brave”.It’s pretty funny that the use of the Namibian dollar in South Africa is only limited to towns like Van Rhynsdorp and what is really sad is the fact that they deduct 7% from any purchases done with the Namibian dollar while the South African rand is rated entirely equal to the Namibian dollar in Namibia.I personally feel that the time has come for the cards to be played right; either one should be able to buy with the Namibian dollar in the whole of South Africa, or the South African rand should not be accepted in Namibia, or otherwise 7% should be deducted on all purchases done with the South African rand in Namibia.I am completely sure that all Namibians feel disadvantaged by this arrangement.Hepundjua Kenny Wenort Via e-mail
