A WHEELCHAIR and a ‘Vuka’ motorbike (Reg: N14460S) are among a big collection of expensive items recovered by Swakopmund Police since last year, and which still have to be claimed by their owners.
The police recovered many of the valuables during the festive season in 2011. In addition to the wheelchair and motorbike, which are in good condition, other items include digital cameras, a microwave, cellphones, clothes and bedding, tools, laptops, DVD players and wide screen HD televisions.Police find it strange that the owners of the wheelchair and the ‘Vuka’ had not claimed the items yet because of their value and purpose.“Who’s the one who used the chair? It’s expensive and rare and how does the owner move around without it? And the motorbike. Why would no one claim it?” an officer asked. The public are requested to provide proof of ownership which will be scrutinised thoroughly before the property is handed back to them. The items can be collected at Swakopmund’s central police station or the Mondesa station.
