When Car Guards Hit Back

When Car Guards Hit Back

I RECENTLY bought myself a car and to my disappointment I had to cough up money for damages that I did not cause myself.

One Saturday morning, I decided to go shopping. I started at Global Textiles, parked my car, checked around for a car guard but I did not see any.I spotted a few guys further away and they were going in the opposite direction.Excited because I found what I was looking for, I opened the boot of my car, put the items inside, opened my doors and went numb when I saw cracks in my windscreen.I looked around, noticed the same bunch of guys and still no car guard. They looked at me in a funny way (trying to observe my reaction of course).Something told me it was them, but because I really didn’t want to point a finger yet, I left it at that. The next day I told a friend about this incident and the first thing he asked was whether there were any car guards.I said no but I told him about the guys I saw washing cars.He said these were probably the culprits.I came to work the next day and related the incident to some of my colleagues and to my surprise they shared the exact same sentiments and the stories they told me were scary.Apparently what some do if you refuse that they watch your car is to scratch or damage your screen or do whatever they can.Can someone please advise me what to do in this case? The companies employing these people must also be brought to book.Just to think that these are the same people that are given the opportunity to earn some money and people do give generously. But it is not fair that they resort to vandalism if people don’t want to pay for their services.S A E WindhoekI started at Global Textiles, parked my car, checked around for a car guard but I did not see any.I spotted a few guys further away and they were going in the opposite direction.Excited because I found what I was looking for, I opened the boot of my car, put the items inside, opened my doors and went numb when I saw cracks in my windscreen.I looked around, noticed the same bunch of guys and still no car guard.
