THE Brave Warriors will play the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in an official FIFA match on June 6.
Warriors’ coach Tom Saintfiet confirmed the fixture, which will be in Windhoek.
Saintfiet warned that the DRC clash will be a tough and important encounter, especially for his players who earlier this year played to a one-all draw against Lebanon.
Most of the DRC’s players are playing professional football in Europe and elsewhere.
Meanwhile, an invitation has been extended to the Warriors from Cairo, Egypt, for an international friendly against that country’s national team.
Saintfiet said the invitation is yet to be confirmed.
Namibian players based in South Africa will be eligible for the match since that country’s domestic league is nearing its end. The match against Egypt will, if confirmed, take place in Cairo. – Nampa
