A WOMAN lost her eye on Saturday night when her boyfriend, an NDF soldier, allegedly whipped her with a plastic sjambok.
According to Chief Inspector Chris Kalimbula of the Erongo Police, the couple had an argument at their home in Walvis Bay’s Kuisebmond suburb.The soldier allegedly started beating her with a sjambok and one of the blows took her eye out.She was taken to hospital and her boyfriend was arrested on a charge of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.He was to appear in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
