WINDHOEK – Rehoboth will be the setting for this year’s Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) Club Championships which take place on Friday and Saturday.
It will be the first time in the history of Namibian volleyball that such a major event will be held at Rehoboth, in the Hardap region. NVF President Andreas Katangolo said on Tuesday that the competition would provide the residents of Rehoboth with a good opportunity to see volleyball of a high standard, as it will involve 22 teams from all over Namibia.Fourteen men’s teams and eight women’s teams will compete over the two-day event to determine the 2006 men’s and women’s club champions.Katangolo is optimistic that after the event two or more teams from Rehoboth would from next year affiliate to the NVF.Currently only one Rehoboth club, with one men’s and one women’s team, is registered with the NVF.Three schools, JTL Beukes, Origo and St Mary’s primary, will be the venues for the event.Clubs from as far north as Rundu and as far south as Oranjemund will take part in the competition.Elegance and Fighting Temptations, formerly known as Western Suburbs, are the defending champions of the men’s and women’s divisions respectively.NampaNVF President Andreas Katangolo said on Tuesday that the competition would provide the residents of Rehoboth with a good opportunity to see volleyball of a high standard, as it will involve 22 teams from all over Namibia.Fourteen men’s teams and eight women’s teams will compete over the two-day event to determine the 2006 men’s and women’s club champions.Katangolo is optimistic that after the event two or more teams from Rehoboth would from next year affiliate to the NVF.Currently only one Rehoboth club, with one men’s and one women’s team, is registered with the NVF.Three schools, JTL Beukes, Origo and St Mary’s primary, will be the venues for the event.Clubs from as far north as Rundu and as far south as Oranjemund will take part in the competition.Elegance and Fighting Temptations, formerly known as Western Suburbs, are the defending champions of the men’s and women’s divisions respectively.Nampa
