PASTOR Lusati Shimbike (35) of the Usakos Lutheran church, who is charged with the rape of a girl (15), has been granted N$2 000 bail.
Shimbike appeared before Magistrate Leopold Hangalo in the Usakos Magistrate’s Court at the end of last week.He was arrested last Wednesday after the girl’s parents laid a charge of statutory rape against him.According to the mother, her daughter, who allegedly frequently visited the pastor, told her that Shimbike allegedly had sex with her. The incident is said to have taken place at the pastor’s home in Usakos on January 8.In terms of his bail conditions, Shimbike may have no contact with the girl and may not interfere with the investigation. He also may not leave the district without the permission of the investigating officer.The case was postponed to March 5 for further investigation. – adam@namibian.com.na
