JOHANNESBURG – The US Embassy and other American offices in South Africa remain closed for a second day because of unspecified security concerns.
Spokeswoman Sharon Hudson-Dean said yesterday no decision has been made on whether the offices will reopen tomorrow.The facilities were ordered shut Tuesday and will be closed again today because of a South African public holiday.Hudson-Dean said the embassy was working closely with the South African authorities.State Department spokesman Ian Kelly said in a press briefing in Washington Tuesday that ‘credible’ information had been received about a possible threat against the embassy. He said he was not able to elaborate on details of the threat. – Nampa-AP
