A 61-year-old woman was raped after she was attacked and repeatedly stabbed with a knife at Okamatapati in the Otjozondjupa Region on Friday, the Police reported at the weekend.
The woman was grabbed, thrown to the ground, stabbed four times with a knife and then raped at Okamatapati, some 80 kilometres east of Okakarara, at about 01h00 on Friday, a Police spokesperson, Chief Inspector Hieronymus Goraseb, said. The suspect has been identified but had not yet been arrested by yesterday, because he managed to flee from the scene of the attack, Goraseb said.Another rape case was reported at Okakarara on Friday.In that incident, a 23-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl at the Okakarara soccer field, Goraseb said.He said this incident took place at about 03h00 on Friday.The suspect is in Police custody, he said.The suspect has been identified but had not yet been arrested by yesterday, because he managed to flee from the scene of the attack, Goraseb said.Another rape case was reported at Okakarara on Friday.In that incident, a 23-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl at the Okakarara soccer field, Goraseb said.He said this incident took place at about 03h00 on Friday.The suspect is in Police custody, he said.
