Two policemen charged with taking bribe

THE Police at Oshakati have arrested two of their colleagues on a charge of bribery.

According to Oshana Police Commissioner Ndahangwapo Kashihakumwa, the two constables, Dornadus Pangeiko (51) and Gabriel Iiyambo (40) were arrested on Friday and appeared in the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court on the same day.
They were not asked to plead and their case was postponed to November 3 for further investigation. Both were granted bail of N$1 000 each.
The two constables allegedly arrested a man on September 25 and then accepted a bribe he had offered them in exchange for withdrawing the case against him.
