CECILIA Paulus (29) from Omaadi village near Ohaingu in the Ohangwena Region has given birth to triplets – two boys and a girl.
The Oshakati State Hospital’s Sister Laimi Nashidengo said the mother and babies, who were born on August 2, are all doing well. She said the two boys weigh 2,6 kg each while the girl weighs in at 2,5 kg.”We last had triplets and quadruplets in 1998, and this month after eight years we are again blessed to get triplets,” Sister Nashidengo said. She told The Namibian that women attending last week’s Economist Businesswomen’s Club conference in Oshakati collected N$1 269 among themselves for the triplets. The money was used to buy clothes, blankets and other baby essentials, Sister Nashidengo said. The proud mother told The Namibian that she has two other children – four and six years old.Neither she or her husband has a job, and the businesswomen’s donation was a godsend, Paulus said.”I am really happy and thank God for this gift of three babies He gave me at once.I will take care of them as mother and the donation we received from the businesswomen will help us a lot to bring up our three children,” Paulus said. She said the two boys weigh 2,6 kg each while the girl weighs in at 2,5 kg.”We last had triplets and quadruplets in 1998, and this month after eight years we are again blessed to get triplets,” Sister Nashidengo said.
