TransNamib worker hit by train

A TRANSNAMIB employee was hit by a train in Windhoek on Monday morning, sustaining serious head injuries, the Police reported yesterday.
Police say Eliaser Max (53) had been cutting grass along the railway line in the Northern Industrial Area.

* Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 49-year-old Selma Shipanga at Okatope in northern Namibia, after her body was discovered floating in a pool at the town’s Onamungundo area on Saturday.* Also in the North, Police in the Omuthiya constituency are investigating the death of a 19-year-old villager from the Oshana Region, who was found dead in her room last Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Victoria Iyambo.* A 21-year-old Zambian national reportedly committed suicide by hanging at home in Academia, Windhoek, on Friday. Nasile Kapuu was found hanging from a rope in her room, Police say. A suicide note was reportedly found on her notebook.* The Karas Police reported the theft of 17 lambs on the farm Kouewater near Keetmanshoop on Friday a week ago.There was a housebreaking at the Standard Bakery at Keetmanshoop, also on Friday a week ago. The thieves broke open the door of the shop and made off with a laptop computer worth N$7 000 and two cellphones worth N$2 000.
