Tigers set for AGM tomorrow

TIGERS Sport Club plans to hold its annual general meeting in Windhoek tomorrow.
The meeting is scheduled for Mandume Primary School Hall in Katutura and starts at 10h00.

According to executive member Cooks Kunamwene a new leadership will be elected to take over the running of the club.Chairman Onesmus Akwenye and his right-hand man, Lukas Nanyemba, both quit but were forced to retain their positions by irate club supporters during a heated AGM last year. Both resignations appeared to have been prompted by allegations of an illegal land sale and disunity in the club at the time. That meeting resolved to appoint a five-member sub-committee to monitor the activities of the current executive and report all new developments within the club to the supporters. The land issue and disharmony among club members are once again set to feature prominently during tomorrow’s meeting. The new management will then be tasked with the planned overhaul of the football team’s technical committee and the acquisition of new players.’Our mandate ended in May. We want to do this as early as possible so that whoever comes in will have enough time to prepare the club for the new season,’ said Kunamwene.
